About the Role

Source Logistics is seeking experienced Field Business Development Managers to drive new logo acquisition within Food & Beverage markets in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.

This is a hunting role for a senior commercial professional with deep Food & Beverage industry relationships. You will own a defined geographic territory, build and convert pipeline against named target accounts, and serve as the regional commercial representative.

This role offers leadership support, modern tools, a strong operational platform, and uncapped earning potential.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a 30/60/90-day territory plan against named target accounts.
  • Activate Food & Beverage industry relationships to generate qualified prospects.
  • Generate self-sourced pipeline aligned with annual revenue goals.
  • Lead consultative discovery conversations and develop customized logistics solutions.
  • Develop proposals, pricing strategies, and service recommendations.
  • Compete against incumbent providers, including national 3PLs.
  • Maintain pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking within HubSpot CRM.
  • Partner with Operations, Solutions, and Account Management teams for successful onboarding.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide regular territory updates and business development reports.
  • Compensation structure includes base salary plus commission.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Food & Beverage commercial, business development, or sales roles.
  • Experience in logistics, 3PL, packaging, chemicals, equipment, or food-processing supply chain sectors.
  • Active relationships with Food & Beverage decision-makers within the assigned territory.
  • Proven success generating and closing new business opportunities exceeding $5 million in annual revenue.
  • Experience building self-generated sales pipelines and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative selling and solution development skills.
  • Experience winning business from incumbent providers.
  • Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% to 70% within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling logistics, warehousing, transportation, or supply chain solutions.
  • Experience working with relationship-driven organizations.
  • Spanish language capability preferred, especially for the Los Angeles territory.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days

  • Territory plan finalized and approved.
  • Top 25 target accounts identified and documented.
  • Five or more qualified meetings generated.
  • Strong internal stakeholder relationships established.

First 12 Months

  • $2 million to $3 million in closed new-logo revenue.
  • $10 million or more in qualified active pipeline.
  • Two or more customers successfully onboarded.

First 24 Months

  • $5 million or more annual new-logo revenue run rate.
  • Recognized as a strategic growth contributor.
  • Contributing to mentorship and development of commercial talent.

Salary range: $150,000—$200,000 USD
