About The Role
The Safety and SQF Coordinator supports both the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety (SQF/BRC) programs across all regional sites. This role focuses on preparing facilities for audits, conducting inspections, supporting corrective actions, and maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Safety, OSHA and Quality Manager, the role collaborates with Regional Managers and Site Leadership while supporting onsite assessments, training, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
EHS Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace inspections to identify chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic, and operational hazards.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce risks and prevent incidents.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-up.
- Educate employees on safety protocols, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
- Prepare and deliver safety training programs.
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching and engagement.
- Collect and analyze EHS data including incidents, near misses, and observations.
- Utilize EHS management software for monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and internal safety policies.
- Support continuous improvement of safety programs and site readiness.
SQF / Food Safety Responsibilities
- Conduct food-safety, sanitation, and hygiene inspections across warehouse operations.
- Maintain SQF documentation, verification records, supplier documentation, and corrective actions.
- Prepare facilities for SQF and customer audits.
- Support traceability exercises, mock recalls, hold/release checks, and allergen verification.
- Train employees on SQF basics, GMPs, hygiene standards, and food-safety procedures.
- Review CAPAs and verify implementation with the Quality team.
- Monitor housekeeping and sanitation processes.
- Assist with vendor approval, visitor management, and document control.
Multi-Site Support
- Travel frequently to warehouse locations to conduct assessments and support audits.
- Provide onsite support during customer, regulatory, and SQF audits.
- Ensure standardized processes across sites.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain audit readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health Sciences, Food Science, or a related field.
