Job Summary
The Tax Team collaborates with wealth management teams to provide tax compliance services to high-net-worth clients. The team includes tax professionals, including Enrolled Agents, CPAs, and accountants across the nation.
As a member of the Tax Team, the Tax Associate is primarily responsible for the preparation of income tax returns, tax projections, and analysis for clients. The role requires strong client service skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced tax preparation environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businesses
- Create quarterly estimates and projections
- Respond to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis for tax and wealth management clients
- Coordinate with tax support staff to ensure timely workflow practices and data integrity
- Respond to tax notices and prepare correspondence
- Stay up to date on tax law changes
- Perform other assigned duties
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Working knowledge of tax preparation with 1-3+ years of public accounting experience preferred
- CPA or EA obtained or in progress preferred
- Experience with CCH, Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle a large volume of activities
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly to clients and advisors
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
Work Schedule
This role requires availability during standard business hours Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM, with Saturdays as needed during tax season. Additional hours may be required to meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
This position may be performed in a professional office or dedicated home office workspace. Basic technology equipment will be provided. The role involves routine sitting and standing with no heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
