The Head Coach is a professional in the management of Human Performance. You will oversee artist safety, acrobatic performance quality, and the Artist Coaches team while collaborating with Artistic Direction and Human Performance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Performance Medicine to implement injury risk reduction strategies.
- Follow governance and standards established by the Director of Coaching.
- Create and maintain an artist-centered training environment.
- Observe and correct acrobatic execution to sustain performance quality.
- Monitor and document artist progress and collaborate with Artist Management.
- Oversee warm ups, conditioning, workload management, recovery, rotations, and training schedules.
- Oversee all training and acrobatic performance content.
- Communicate Human Performance information with stakeholders.
- Support recruitment, integration, and supervision of Coaches and Artist Coaches.
- Lead meetings for communication, feedback, and professional development.
- Complete documentation, risk assessments, and action plans.
- Validate accident reports and participate in safety reviews.
- Initiate approvals for act changes and integrations.
- Participate in improvement and development projects.
- Deliver coaching evaluations for artists.
Job Requirements
- Degree in physical activity sciences or equivalent combination of studies and experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in group management and training planning.
- Knowledge or experience in circus arts is considered an asset.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to pass a swim test.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication, and management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguity.
