About the Role
Under the supervision of the Director of the Residency Program, residents will provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses
- Create personalized treatment plans including medication management
- Collaborate with psychotherapists and healthcare professionals on integrated treatment plans
- Work from the Burke, VA clinic up to 2 days per week
- Meet regularly with residency cohort and supervisor
- Provide education and consultation for patients and families
- Manage diagnostic testing including digital and lab results
- Participate in weekly clinical and supervisory meetings
- Maintain patient documentation and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform additional clinical-related activities as assigned
Qualifications

Requirements
- National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Availability Monday through Friday, 10am–6:30pm ET
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Graduation within the last 12 months or less than 1 year of PMHNP experience
- Active PMHNP license and DEA in Virginia or ability to obtain before residency begins
- Commitment to complete the residency and additional 2-year employment period
Salary Range
$100,000—$112,000 USD
