Medical Services Manager

Blackbird Health is clinician-founded and delivers virtual and in-person mental health services with a whole-child approach focused on pediatric care.

Position Summary

As a Blackbird Medical Services Residency Manager, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for the PMHNP Residency Program while also delivering excellent clinical care to your own caseload of patients. This is a practicing clinical leadership role.

You will oversee day-to-day clinical residency operations, directly supervise and precept psychiatric nurse practitioner residents, and lead staff development through targeted training, seminars, and ongoing clinical education.

In this role, you will guide residents in building high-quality caseloads, achieving productivity milestones, and mastering evidence-based practices. You will also support residency curriculum development and academic partnerships.

How you'll make an impact

• Lead daily clinical operations of the residency cohort
• Supervise and precept PMHNP residents through case reviews and chart audits
• Design and deliver onboarding, didactic sessions, case conferences, and evidence-based seminars
• Maintain an 18-hour weekly direct clinical care caseload including evaluations and follow-up visits
• Monitor patient progress and support treatment plan adjustments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute integrated treatment plans
• Support student clinical rotations and university partnerships
• Ensure compliance with documentation, billing, and regulatory standards
• Participate in recruitment and selection of residency cohorts

The basics you'll need

• Current license as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in PA/NJ/MD/VA
• Ability to obtain cross-licensure in multiple states
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a licensed CRNP/PMHNP
• Preferred experience in child/adolescent psychiatry
• Experience in precepting, clinical supervision, or clinical educator roles within nursing programs or residency frameworks
