Job Description

We are seeking a Natural Language Processing expert to help build cutting-edge machine learning technology that replaces complex, time-consuming manual processes with automation and intelligence. You will develop solutions that transform natural language data into useful features for classification algorithms and implement the latest technology to improve user search functionality.

This is a full-time position based in Pittsburgh, PA with up to 10% travel.

Scope of Responsibilities

Design and develop NLP applications to enhance the intelligence and efficiency of the data analytics SaaS platform
Review, verify, and aggregate annotated datasets for supervised learning
Collaborate with taxonomy experts to create and validate dataset annotation
Develop effective text representations to transform natural language documents into user-friendly features
Integrate state-of-the-art LLM models into the Ark.ai platform
Develop new algorithms and modeling techniques and conduct experiments to validate results
Integrate models into live production systems
Establish evaluation criteria for algorithm performance and suitability
Implement scalable, production-ready models and code
Stay current with machine learning best practices and open-source frameworks
Drive innovation and continuous improvement
Collaborate with taxonomists, software engineers, data scientists, data engineers, and QA engineers

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required
Advanced degree, or Bachelor's with at least 3 years of experience, in Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field

Required Skills

Minimum 3 years of hands-on NLP model development experience
Strong understanding of NLP methods for text representation and semantic extraction
Experience building and productionizing supervised and unsupervised ML models
Advanced proficiency in Python
Advanced SQL skills
Ability to learn and implement cutting-edge technologies
Collaborative mindset across the design process

Desired Skills

U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one
Experience in startup or entrepreneurial environments
Experience deploying ML models in Kubernetes environments
Experience developing custom training sets for large language models
Experience productionizing transformer-based models
