• Facility: 200+ bed hospital, Level III Trauma designation; Epic EMR

• Clinical scope: Bread-and-butter general surgery including level 3 trauma; daily rounding and ED new consults/emergent cases

• Volume: Minimum 2–3 cases/day; up to 7–8 on home game weekends

Description

Locum tenens coverage is needed for General/Light Trauma Surgery during the Christmas and New Year holiday periods with 100% 24-hour call. You will round daily and cover the ED for new consults and emergent cases, providing general surgery services with level 3 trauma coverage.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily patient rounding

• Provide ED coverage for new consults and emergent cases

• Deliver bread-and-butter general surgery services including level 3 trauma

Requirements

• Minimum of 110 general/trauma surgery procedural case logs in the past 24 months (required upon presentation)

• Colon cases within the past 24 months

• Three references from the last 24 months: 2 peer references + 1 leadership

• 40 hours of CME per two-year cycle

• Board certification and active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license required

• 100% 24-hour call coverage only

• No mid-level support for the general surgery service line
