Description

You will work closely with DoD customers and stakeholders across the system lifecycle—development, integration & test, deployment, and operations—supporting a sophisticated ground system architecture. The role focuses on building mission-critical, highly available, high-performance private cloud infrastructure, automating deployment, and documenting system engineering requirements and validation plans. Responsibilities also include system planning/design for expansion, conducting trade studies, and supporting virtualized operating systems and containerized applications.

Responsibilities

• Support development, integration & test, deployment, and operations of a ground system architecture

• Build mission-critical networked systems in a team-oriented environment

• Build and deploy cloud instances and applications using automation tools

• Create system engineering documentation (operational concept, requirements, specifications, interface control documents, V&V plans)

• Perform system planning/design for resource expansion

• Support ground system trade studies

• Provide private cloud infrastructure for a DoD customer

• Enable virtualized operating systems and containerized applications for tactical/operational systems

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain or maintain a polygraph

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with 10+ years in systems engineering, or Master’s degree with 6+ years

• Experience with Windows-based operating systems

• Scripting for task automation and system configuration automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)

• Experience creating/modifying/troubleshooting configuration playbooks for sustainment

• Experience with system integration and testing; configuration of networked services, file systems, and authentication

• OS administration skills, preferably RHEL 9.x+: bare-metal builds, package installation, troubleshooting, and security hardening (certificates/auth settings)

• Proficiency in Ansible, Bash, or Python for automation across physical/virtual hosts

• Experience with distributed computing technologies

• Experience with virtualization/cloud and containers (OpenStack, Citrix XenServer, RHEV, VMware), Docker, Ansible, Heat

• Experience integrating hosts/applications into an IDAM system, including PKI infrastructure and PKI issue troubleshooting

• Experience with front-end processing and network gateway appliances/software
