Description

Join the Azure Cosmos DB Gateway team to build the critical front-end distributed data plane for a globally distributed database service. You will design and implement request routing, connection management, networking, caching, load balancing, resource management, service reliability, and performance optimization for Cosmos DB workloads running in gateway mode.

Responsibilities

• Design and build highly available, high-performance distributed systems operating at massive scale.

• Build infrastructure for Cosmos DB gateway applications.

• Work on request routing, connection management, networking, caching, load balancing, resource management, service reliability, and performance optimization.

• Dive deep into Azure technologies and distributed database systems.

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and build features that drive service growth.

• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.

• Build reusable libraries and practices for other teams.

• Participate in a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding (C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python) OR equivalent experience.

• Ability to meet required Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
