Description

The Cost and Data Analyst supports Onshore Drilling and Completions teams by managing capital cost tracking, forecasting, accruals, and reporting against approved AFEs and budgets. It also gathers, integrates, and validates data from systems such as WellView and SAP and builds dashboards, reports, and automation to improve cost visibility and data integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Track well costs vs approved AFEs by comparing WellView field cost estimates with SAP actuals, commitments, and accruals; communicate variances and partner to resolve them.

  • Coordinate with Planning & Performance on monthly forecast submissions; support annual budgets and long-range plans.

  • Create Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase orders (PO); analyze contracts, service rates, and remaining obligations; support vendor pricing validation and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support AFE, PO, and WBS closeout by validating outstanding commitments, final costs, and required cost corrections.

  • Coordinate with field personnel for accurate daily cost entry and correct cost coding in WellView.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for SAP systems/processes related to D&C cost management.

  • Develop, manage, and track D&C cost KPIs and benchmarking metrics.

  • Gather, cleanse, consolidate, and QA data from WellView, SAP, and vendor sources; resolve missing, corrupt, irrelevant, or incongruent data.

  • Write SQL queries and Python scripts to automate data gathering, cost reporting, and data requests.

  • Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI and/or Spotfire.

  • Perform routine data audits, reconciliations, and quality control to ensure reporting completeness and accuracy.

  • Assist in developing and standardizing cost-control tools, templates, workflows, and reporting processes; recommend improvements to data collection.

  • Communicate cost and data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Support regulatory functions to ensure government data submissions are accurate and correctly formatted.

Benefits

  • Controlled (mostly inside) work environment; must be able to complete essential physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
