Description

Locum Tenens opportunity for a Pediatric Neurologist specializing in pediatric epilepsy in South Carolina starting October 2026. Choose between on-site 24-hour inpatient coverage in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit or fully remote overnight EEG interpretation. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and interpreting inpatient and outpatient EEGs.

Responsibilities

• On-site option: Provide 24-hour coverage from Monday 8:00 AM through the following Monday 8:00 AM
• Evaluate patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Interpret inpatient and outpatient EEGs (approximately 8 inpatient EEGs/day and 10 outpatient EEGs/day)
• Provide on-site daytime coverage with overnight call and collaborate with the inpatient care team
• Remote option: Fully remote overnight EEG coverage (5:00 PM–8:00 AM) on individual nights, a full 7-night week, or weekends
• Interpret approximately 5 EEGs per night using the provided Natus EEG software

Requirements

• MD/DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology or Pediatric Neurology
• Experience with pediatric epilepsy and EEG interpretation
• Experience with inpatient EEG monitoring preferred
• Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain; clean background and malpractice history required for temporary privileges
• Remote role requires familiarity with the Natus EEG platform
• Prior travel/locum experience preferred
