Quick Facts

• Role: Locum Pediatric Neurologist for inpatient pediatric epilepsy and EEG coverage

• Coverage options: On-site 24-hour epilepsy monitoring unit coverage or fully remote overnight EEG coverage

• Patient/volume: ~4–6 EMU patients/week; ~8 inpatient EEGs and 10 outpatient EEGs per day; remote ~5 EEGs per night

• Scheduling: ~1 week of 7 consecutive days per month

• EMR: EPIC

Description

Provide pediatric epilepsy evaluation and EEG interpretation coverage for inpatient and outpatient studies. You will support the epilepsy monitoring unit and provide overnight EEG coverage with call/EEG-related response. Documentation is completed in EPIC, and remote providers are supplied with a laptop and Natus software for EEG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage pediatric epilepsy patients

• Provide coverage for the epilepsy monitoring unit

• Read and interpret inpatient EEG studies

• Read and interpret outpatient EEG studies

• Provide overnight EEG coverage and clinical support

• Respond to overnight calls and EEG-related needs

• Collaborate with the pediatric neurology and clinical care teams

• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Neurology

• Experience with pediatric epilepsy and EEG interpretation

• Strong inpatient pediatric neurology experience

• Familiarity with Natus EEG software for remote coverage

• Active medical license applicable to SC practice

• Clean professional, background, and malpractice history required for temporary privileges

• Prior travel experience preferred
