Description

Develop and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe systems in the insurance domain. Analyze and fix errors, optimize application performance, and implement batch and online processing flows. Participate in testing, releases, and production deployments while collaborating with business teams and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain, and further develop existing COBOL applications on Mainframe systems

• Implement business and technical requirements for the insurance environment

• Analyze and resolve defects and perform performance optimization

• Create and adapt batch and online processing processes

• Support testing activities, releases, and production rollouts

• Collaborate closely with business departments, architects, and development teams

• Document technical solutions and development activities

Requirements

• Several years of COBOL development experience on IBM Mainframe systems

• Several years of project experience in the insurance industry (policy administration, benefits/claims processing, contract systems; advantageous: property/casualty or life/health insurance)

• Strong knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and JCL

• Solid experience with DB2 plus development and optimization of database applications

• Knowledge of CICS and batch processing

• Experience analyzing and evolving complex legacy systems

• Structured and independent working style

• Very good German skills (written and spoken)
