Description

Join an international industrial project for a UK client using Data Science and Machine Learning to optimize manufacturing processes, improve quality, and reduce material losses. This practical role focuses on predictive modeling using industrial/process and sensor/telemetry time-series data—not GenAI or Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production, process, and telemetry data (including sensor and time-series data)
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and predictive solutions
• Build models to support product quality prediction and reduce production losses
• Optimize production process parameters to increase throughput/yield
• Develop anomaly detection, equipment state monitoring, and predictive maintenance solutions
• Perform time-series feature engineering considering data specifics and quality
• Lead analytical work end-to-end: from defining the operational problem to delivering models and recommendations
• Present results and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders in English

Requirements

• Documented ML experience in process industry or continuous manufacturing
• Practical knowledge of sensor and SCADA/historian/telemetry data, including noisy and incomplete time-series
• Experience in at least two areas: quality prediction & loss reduction; process optimization & yield; anomaly detection or predictive maintenance
• Very good Python skills and experience with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy or Polars
• ML experience including scikit-learn and XGBoost/LightGBM/CatBoost
• Ability to work independently on analyses and collaborate with engineers and operational teams
• English at least B2 and readiness for ~2 UK business trips
