Description

Provide comprehensive ambulatory nursing care in an outpatient setting. You will perform psychosocial assessments, provide patient education, communicate with providers and document determinations/events, administer medications via multiple routes, and coordinate patient referrals through internal/external community resources and the TRICARE network. You will also evaluate the effectiveness of educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with providers regarding determinations and situations; document events appropriately
• Provide integral patient education
• Conduct psychosocial assessments (culture, understanding/cooperation, expectations of care, coping mechanisms)
• Accept outpatient consults for patient education
• Coordinate referrals to internal/external community support services and the TRICARE network
• Evaluate effectiveness of educational activities
• Prepare and administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications
