Description

Assist the Nurse Manager with leadership and operational oversight for a 24/7 acute psychiatry unit, ensuring excellence in patient care, staff development, quality outcomes, and a culture of safety. Act as a clinical expert responsible for elements of the nursing process during direct or supervised patient care, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to implement evidence-based, recovery-oriented programs. Support care coordination focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and supervise direct patient care using the nursing process

• Support development of care delivery models and environmental design to ensure equitable, evidence-based care

• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards and adherence to policies/SOPs

• Align unit objectives with organizational strategic outcomes and assist in strategy planning

• Promote an inclusive workplace valuing diversity

• Coordinate care focused on patient education, self-management, and satisfaction

• Drive innovative process improvement initiatives with the interdisciplinary team

• Provide leadership coverage for other clinical areas/Assistant Nurse Managers as needed
