Description

Serve as a clinical expert and support the Nurse Manager by ensuring responsible, accountable delivery of nursing care across assigned units. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific components, while coordinating care centered on patient education and self-management. Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards and support staff orientation, training, development, and performance input.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager with supervision and accountability for 24/7 operation of designated units

• Cover for other Assistant Nurse Managers as needed

• Direct and supervise orientation, training, and development of staff; provide input into staff performance evaluation

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and improve care outcomes

• Engage in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth

• Equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promote accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes

• Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards

• Align nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes and participate in strategy planning/execution
