Description

Provide engineering services for the development, execution, and quality control of chemical cleaning, treatment, and painting processes. Apply chemistry and chemical engineering principles to understand chemical and physical material properties, support the selection of chemicals/processes, and contribute to technical investigations. Deliver training and technical expertise on surface cleaning, treatment, and painting technology.

Responsibilities

• Improve chemical material cleaning, treatment, and painting processes

• Apply chemistry and chemical engineering principles, methods, and practices, including knowledge of chemical and physical properties of materials

• Assist production and design engineers in identifying chemicals and processes needed to meet customer requirements

• Provide chemical and materials analysis to the Materiel Review Board during investigations of component failures, non-conforming products, unauthorized material substitutions, and Quality Deficiency Reports

• Provide training and technical expertise on details of surface cleaning, treatment, and painting technology

Requirements

• US citizen

• Meet the basic chemical engineering education/experience requirement (engineering degree with qualifying coursework/standards or approved alternative pathways)

• Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

• Subject to suitability or fitness determination following a background investigation

• Able to lift up to 20 lbs

• Pre-employment and annual financial disclosure (OGE-450)

• One-year probationary period may be required

• Use employer-provided personal protective equipment
