Quick Facts

  • Role: Salesforce Forward Deployed Engineer (Salesforce AI Consultant)

  • Location: Orlando, FL

  • Contract: 12+ months

Description

Embed with business teams, learn their processes, and build Salesforce solutions in their org with a feedback loop measured in days. You will design and deploy Agentforce agents grounded in Data Cloud, build custom MCP servers in Python to connect agents to additional systems, and implement core Salesforce engineering to deliver dependable production behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery with business stakeholders: process walkthroughs, org audits, data profiling, and translate findings into designs (not ticket backlogs)

  • Design, build, and deploy Agentforce agents using topics, instructions, guardrails, and actions backed by Salesforce capabilities

  • Ground agents in Data Cloud using retrieval and the Trust Layer with focus on accuracy, latency, and cost

  • Determine case-by-case whether capabilities should be native Agentforce actions or custom MCP servers, and connect them when applicable

  • Design and build custom MCP servers in Python exposing Salesforce objects, SOQL queries, Apex endpoints, and business actions as agent tools with clear input schemas, useful error messages, and permissions aligned with org sharing

  • Build on-platform functionality: Apex (triggers, Queueable, Batch, async patterns), Lightning Web Components, Flow, Platform Events, and scalable data models

  • Integrate Salesforce with external systems via REST/GraphQL, OAuth 2.0, Named Credentials, External Services; handle retries, idempotency, and rate limits

  • Evaluate agent behavior end-to-end with test cases, measure topic routing and action accuracy, and find failure modes before users encounter them

  • Own deployment and quality with SFDX, scratch orgs, CI/CD, meaningful Apex test coverage, and governor-limit awareness

  • Deliver documentation and runbooks so the embedded team can operate what you built after you move on

Requirements

  • 5+ years building on the Salesforce platform

  • Production Apex at scale (bulkification, asynchronous patterns, governor limits, trigger frameworks)

  • Lightning Web Components experience with strong JavaScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals

  • Declarative fluency: Flow, validation rules, sharing and visibility; good judgment on when not to code

  • Data modeling and large-data-volume considerations plus integration architecture experience

  • Production experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud

  • Hands-on Agentforce experience (topics and actions, Prompt Builder, Agent Builder, Data Cloud grounding)

  • Strong Python experience shipping and maintaining services

  • Hands-on experience building custom MCP servers or comparable LLM tool-use integrations (function calling, agent frameworks, retrieval pipelines)

  • Understanding of how LLMs fail and ability to design tools that fail safely

  • API design, authentication, and secrets handling in compliance-constrained environments

  • Comfort with Git, CI/CD, containers, and cloud deployment

  • Ability to lead stakeholder-facing discovery and work under ambiguity

  • Clear written communication (design docs, decision records, handoff notes)

Benefits

  • Forward-deployed collaboration with rapid iteration (days, not quarters) alongside business stakeholders

  • Long-term contract opportunity (12+ months)
