Description

Work as a Forward Deployed Engineer (Salesforce AI Consultant) embedded with business teams to design and build Salesforce AI capabilities directly in their org, grounded in the team’s data and process. The role combines Agentforce agent design (topics, instructions, actions) grounded in Data Cloud, custom MCP servers written in Python to connect agents to platform gaps, and core Salesforce engineering (Apex, LWC, Flow, integrations, scalable data models). Iterate quickly with a feedback loop measured in days.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with business stakeholders (process walkthroughs, org audits, data profiling) and turn findings into solution designs.
• Design, build, and deploy Agentforce agents with topics, instructions, guardrails, and actions backed by Apex, Flow, prompt templates, and APIs.
• Ground agents in Data Cloud using retrieval and the Trust Layer; optimize for accuracy, latency, and cost.
• Decide per use case whether to implement capability as a native Agentforce action or via a custom MCP server; connect them appropriately.
• Design and build custom MCP servers in Python exposing Salesforce objects, SOQL queries, Apex endpoints, and agent tools with clear input schemas, helpful error messages, and permissions that follow org sharing.
• Build on-platform components: Apex (triggers, Queueable, Batch, async patterns), Lightning Web Components, Flow, Platform Events, and a data model suitable for real volume.
• Integrate Salesforce with external systems using REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth 2.0, Named Credentials, External Services, and middleware for retries, idempotency, and rate limits.
• Evaluate agent behavior end to end: write test cases, measure topic routing and action accuracy, and identify failure modes before users encounter them.
• Own deployment and quality: SFDX, scratch orgs, CI/CD, meaningful Apex test coverage, and governor-limit awareness.
• Leave documentation and runbooks for the embedded team to operate the solution after handoff.

Requirements

• 5+ years building on the Salesforce platform
• Production Apex experience at scale (bulkification, asynchronous patterns, governor limits, trigger frameworks)
• Lightning Web Components with strong front-end fundamentals (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Declarative fluency (Flow, validation rules, sharing/visibility) and judgment about when not to write code
• Data modeling and integration architecture for large data volumes
• Production experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud
• Hands-on Agentforce experience (topics, actions, Prompt Builder, Agent Builder, Data Cloud grounding)
• Strong Python experience shipping and maintaining services
• Hands-on custom MCP servers or comparable LLM tool-use integrations (function calling, agent frameworks, retrieval pipelines)
• Understanding of how LLMs fail; ability to design tools that fail safely
• API design, authentication, and secrets handling under real compliance constraints
• Comfort with Git, CI/CD, containers, and cloud deployment
