Description

Own end-to-end delivery of reliable backend and AI-enabled capabilities for business workflows—from discovery through deployment, adoption, and follow-through. Collaborate with Product, Operations, Engineering, and users to use product/operational data and customer feedback to turn workflow problems into production-ready software, including AI and agentic systems. Build, evaluate, and improve AI behavior with an emphasis on reliability, latency, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Partner cross-functionally to understand needs, constraints, and success criteria, and use data to challenge existing workflows.
• Independently deliver well-scoped solutions, moving from investigation and prototypes to tested, maintainable production software.
• Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and automation connecting business workflows with existing systems.
• Develop AI-enabled capabilities using models, business data, retrieval, structured outputs, and tool calling.
• Build agentic workflows when appropriate, with bounded actions, clear permissions, and human review for consequential decisions.
• Evaluate and improve AI behavior using representative cases and production feedback; balance quality, reliability, latency, and cost.
• Use AI coding tools and agents throughout implementation, debugging, testing, and learning while reviewing and testing their outputs.
• Own deployment, monitoring, adoption, and follow-through; simplify systems and share practical guidance.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building/operating production backend systems.
• Production experience with Go (testing, concurrency, maintainable service design).
• Track record of independently delivering reliable production outcomes from incomplete briefs.
• Ability to understand business workflows and explain technical trade-offs to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or automation (context management, retrieval, structured outputs, tool calling).
• Experience evaluating AI output and improving prompts/data/models/workflows after failures.
• Understanding of AI risks (hallucinations, prompt injection, sensitive data exposure) and practical mitigation.
• Effective use of AI coding tools/agents supported by your own technical judgment, code review, and testing.
• Ability to decide when to use AI vs conventional software based on reliability, complexity, and cost.
• Clear English communication and comfort working directly with users and stakeholders.
