Description

Design and develop advanced RF/microwave hardware systems, including RF/microwave circuits, low-noise analog, power systems, FPGA hardware, and embedded GPU platforms. Translate system requirements into hardware and software specifications, evaluate tradeoffs, and troubleshoot complex hardware issues to improve performance. Partner cross-functionally from concept through production to ensure real-world application needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware systems across RF/microwave, low-noise analog, power systems, FPGA hardware, and embedded GPU platforms
  • Evaluate tradeoffs between RF hardware and signal processing (detection, tracking, calibration, interference mitigation)
  • Translate system-level requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Assess feasibility across technical, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Partner with systems, electrical, mechanical, and software teams from concept through production
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware issues and drive design improvements
  • Collaborate with product teams to align performance with real-world application needs

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or similar field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1-4 years of work experience in RF Hardware Design (academic experience may be considered)
  • RF/microwave design experience in areas such as upconversion/downconversion, mixers and signal chain design, amplifiers (LNAs/PAs), transceivers, filtering, phased arrays, calibration, waveform generation (DDS/PLL), oscillators (OCXO or similar)
  • Experience with PLLs (integer vs fractional-N, loop bandwidth)
  • Experience with transceiver signal chain design would be ideal
  • Hardware and circuit design experience: schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
  • LTSpice (required)
  • Simulation tools: HFSS, ADS, or similar
