Quick Facts

  • Role: AI Engineer (Autonomous Agents)

  • Focus: Hands-on architecture and engineering for a multi-agent, self-improving autonomous system

Description

You will own the technical architecture and development of an autonomous agent platform that identifies opportunities, validates ideas, builds and launches software, and drives toward first revenue. The role is highly hands-on: build multi-agent orchestration infrastructure, develop self-improving agent harnesses (feedback loops, evaluation, and memory), and ship production backend services on top of LLM APIs. You’ll also improve agent behavior in production and help define engineering standards as the system scales.

Role responsibilities

  • Own system architecture and make key technical decisions across the platform

  • Design and build multi-agent systems and orchestration infrastructure from idea to launch

  • Develop self-improving agent harnesses with feedback loops, evaluation systems, and memory

  • Build and maintain AI-powered backend services using LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini)

  • Write production code for agent runtime and orchestration

  • Debug and improve AI behavior in production using prompt engineering, structured outputs, retries, and fallbacks

  • Break down complex technical challenges into milestones and prioritize the engineering roadmap

  • Establish engineering standards for code reviews, testing, observability, and release processes

  • Lead and support the engineering team while staying deeply involved in implementation

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Prior technical leadership experience at an early-stage company (e.g., Founding Engineer, Tech Lead, Head of Engineering)

  • Hands-on experience shipping multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks to production

  • Experience developing self-improving or self-evolving agent harnesses

  • Strong backend engineering skills, including designing and maintaining APIs, services, and data flows

  • LLM systems experience: prompt engineering, model configuration, structured outputs, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation

  • Daily hands-on experience with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or similar), including delegating work, reviewing output, and verifying what agents build

Benefits

  • Build autonomous systems at the frontier of reliability, throughput, and self-improvement

  • High-impact technical leadership with both architecture ownership and hands-on production engineering
