Description

Lead backend engineering for enterprise productivity features connecting Slack with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. You will design and build secure backend services and APIs for admin and user authentication and connection flows (OAuth, domain-wide delegation, token management, and permission policies), and own key Admin Productivity Suite backend components such as bulk approve/install pipelines, install-state storage, failure handling, and admin analytics.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, drive technical decisions, write secure designs, mentor engineers, and support production issue triage.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services and API methods for admin and user authentication and connection flows with Google and Microsoft.
  • Own and evolve the Admin Productivity Suite backend (bulk approve/install pipelines, install-state storage, failure handling, admin analytics).
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Frontend to ship features that improve connected-user and DWA adoption using experiments and data.
  • Work across team boundaries on shared permission, auth, and connector frameworks, including evolution from 2.0 connectors toward MCP.
  • Write secure, well-documented designs and collaborate with Security through scoped review.
  • Support operations by triaging and resolving production issues.
  • Mentor engineers, perform deep code reviews, and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience building web applications or backend services
  • Experience with PHP/Hack, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, or similar languages
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0/OIDC and authorization models; ideally with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365/Entra ID integrations (admin consent, domain-wide delegation, Graph or Google APIs)
  • Ability to contribute to technical architecture discussions and drive technical decisions within the team
  • Understandable, testable, maintainable code
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining complex concepts to designers, support, and other engineers
  • Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval
  • Related technical degree

Benefits

  • Time off programs
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • Mental health support
  • Paid parental leave
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k)
