Description

Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with severe or chronic breathing issues. Evaluate structural, inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic respiratory disorders using pulmonology tests and specialist procedures. Deliver compassionate care, including long-term patient support and immunizations, while contributing to research on new therapies.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients to understand symptoms and health concerns

• Diagnose and treat conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema

• Use and interpret pulmonological exams and tests, including CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies

• Perform specialized procedures to obtain samples from the chest lining or lungs for further analysis

• Provide immunizations against preventable cardiopulmonary diseases

• Maintain detailed appointment notes, including tests, results, and prescribed treatments

• Support and advise patients receiving long-term care

• Conduct research into testing and development of new medications and treatment methods

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree

• 3 to 7 years of internship and clinical residency training specializing in pulmonology

• American Board of Internal Medicine certification in pulmonology

• Valid and active medical license in the state where practicing

• Exceptional attention to detail
