Description

The Physician Assistant will support physicians by facilitating patient recovery through the application of medical techniques and principles under physician direction. Responsibilities include skin cancer screenings, diagnosing and treating skin conditions (e.g., acne, eczema, rosacea), performing procedures (including biopsies, wide excisions, cryotherapy), prescribing medication, and providing preventive care guidance. The role also includes assisting with surgeries such as Mohs surgery and performing certain minimally/non-invasive cosmetic procedures (e.g., Botox, laser resurfacing, chemical peels).

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories
• Perform physical exams, including skin cancer screening exams
• Diagnose and treat skin conditions (acne, eczema, rosacea)
• Order and interpret tests
• Perform biopsies, wide excisions, and cryotherapy
• Develop treatment plans
• Prescribe medication
• Provide preventive care information
• Perform minimally/non-invasive cosmetic procedures (Botox, laser skin resurfacing, mild/moderate chemical peels)
• Assist in surgeries, including Mohs surgery

Requirements

• Master’s Degree
• Active New York Physician Assistant license
• At least 6 months of PA experience in Dermatology
• Current New York Controlled Substance and DEA registration
• Graduation from an approved PA program
• Post-graduate training in surgery OR at least one-year equivalent work experience
• Current NCCPA certification
• Emergency Medicine / Family Practice / Acute Care experience
• DOT; BLS and ACLS preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
• Proven experience as a physician assistant or nurse
• EMR systems knowledge preferred
