Description

Provide routine patient care and rehabilitation by diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the legs, ankles, and feet. Responsibilities include evaluating medical history, performing exams and imaging, prescribing orthotics and pain relief medications, and delivering both therapeutic and surgical interventions as needed. You will also advise patients on proper foot care and therapeutic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients in clinic or hospital
• Review patients’ medical history
• Examine legs, ankles, and feet to diagnose diseases, illnesses, or injuries
• Perform X-rays and physical scans of lower extremities
• Treat sport-related leg or foot injuries
• Treat deformities and ailments using casting or laser therapy
• Prescribe orthotics and pain relief medication
• Order ultrasounds and bone density tests
• Perform ankle and foot surgeries
• Advise patients on proper foot care and therapeutic techniques

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in podiatric medicine
• Practical experience in a hospital or clinic
• In-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments
• Knowledge of related medicines and topical treatments
• Familiarity with foot abnormalities and genetic anomalies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced diagnostic and fine-motor skills
• Knowledge of related physical therapy techniques
• High level of patience and empathy
• Good decision-making skills
