Distributed Systems Engineer

Description

Design and develop modules and components for a core real-time bidding platform processing 24M+ requests per second with sub-50ms latency. Optimize response time and resource consumption, ensure reliability and scalability, build performance and correctness tests, and develop tools to monitor and analyze production operations. Continuously improve tooling and evaluate new technologies for production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design and program modules and components
• Optimize developed software for response time and resource consumption
• Ensure reliability and scalability
• Create performance and correctness tests for new components
• Analyze new technologies for applicability in production conditions
• Develop tools for monitoring and analyzing production system operation
• Continuously optimize existing tools and processes

Requirements

• Excellent understanding of complex IT systems (hardware level through software to algorithmics)
• Proficiency in programming
• Very good knowledge of fundamental Internet protocols and technologies (DNS, HTTP, cookies)
• Good knowledge of concurrency and distributed systems methods (from threads to large-scale systems)
• Practical ability to observe, monitor, and analyze production systems and draw conclusions
• Ability to critically analyze performance (theoretical estimates and production issue detection/removal)
• Knowledge of scalability and high-availability issues and common solution methods
• C1 level in English and Polish
• Background in Computer Science, algorithmic complexity, and system architecture (CS degree, competitive programming like OI/ICPC, or equivalent)
