Description

You will help lead architecture and critical components for a video-forensics watermarking system, combining backend development with multimedia pipeline work. Own end-to-end design from encoding and processing, through CDN distribution, to the final receiver. Develop key services, APIs, integrations, and pipelines (Python first, C++ where performance matters) and mentor the team through code reviews and technical decision-making (no people-management responsibility).

Responsibilities

• Design system architecture across the full pipeline: coding/processing, CDN distribution, and end receiver

• Develop core services, APIs, integrations, and multimedia pipelines using Python and C++ for performance-critical parts

• Prototype solutions with proof of concepts and compare architectural alternatives

• Diagnose complex production issues and optimize latency, reliability, and infrastructure costs

• Make tradeoffs considering image quality, performance, scale, security, and product goals

• Lead code reviews, mentoring, and maintain code quality and clarity

• Break down initiatives into tasks, estimate with risk, and plan work with the Product Owner

Requirements

• Very strong Python knowledge and backend design/development practices for APIs and integrations

• Very strong C++ knowledge and experience with performance/resource-efficient components

• Practical JavaScript knowledge for integrations and tooling

• Experience with low-latency, high-reliability system design, including CDN, caching, edge/origin relationships, and evaluating change impact across the data flow

• Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems and multimedia pipelines, including inference implementation and optimization

• Hands-on multimedia processing and streaming experience: GStreamer, encoding/transcoding, HLS/DASH segmentation, and latency-to-quality dependencies

• Ability to diagnose production problems, identify bottlenecks, and justify technical decisions

• Basic systems security knowledge: encryption for data in transit and at rest, signatures, tokens, authentication, authorization, and API protection

• Independence in decision-making, openness to alternative solutions, and ability to share knowledge and explain complex topics

• English proficiency to discuss technical topics with clients
