• Role: (Junior) HVAC-R Engineer (maritime systems)

Description

Work on demanding, internationally oriented HVAC-R projects in the marine industry. You will support the calculation, design, and implementation of HVAC-R systems for new-build and existing projects, including quality assurance of key technical parameters. You’ll coordinate with project engineers, suppliers, and external designers and assist with proposals, control concepts, and test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and size HVAC-R systems (e.g., transmission calculations)
• Perform quality assurance and compute technical parameters (e.g., pressure losses, sound attenuators, air diffusers)
• Create 3D geometries (e.g., climate rooms, shafts) and produce 2D drawings (PD, PID, P&ID)
• Coordinate with project engineers, suppliers, customers, and external design partners
• Support tenders, control concepts, and test protocols
• Assist with travel to shipyards, suppliers, and project sites
• Contribute to improving processes, tools, and technical documentation

Requirements

• Completed degree in engineering or technical vocational training with relevant further education
• Good CAD knowledge (e.g., CADMATIC, AVEVA, Trimble Nova or comparable systems)
• First experience in HVAC-R design and technical documentation
• Strong German and English skills
• Structured and independent working style
• Team-oriented approach and strong communication skills
• Willingness to travel
• High learning motivation and interest in technical development
• Valid work authorization for Germany
