Quick Facts

  • Role: Director of Engineering, Builder Infrastructure

Description

Lead engineering for Builder Infrastructure, the foundation of the Builder Platform that enables a self-service path from idea to production for builders. Set multi-year direction and ownership across Cloud Engineering, Container Platform, and Infrastructure Security, accountable for infrastructure velocity, reliability, security posture, and cost. Drive AI-first, global-by-default infrastructure operations, including end-to-end security for people, workloads, and agent-driven changes.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver a multi-year Builder Infrastructure strategy aligned to growth across regions, accounts, and services

  • Design the domain and ownership model so teams can ship independently behind clear interfaces across Krakow and the US

  • Lead and develop engineering managers and senior engineers; build bench and succession planning

  • Run infrastructure as a product with paved roads, published APIs, and success measured by adoption, lead time, and toil

  • Set direction for AI-operated infrastructure where agents provision/patch/upgrade/remediate within policy and human approval for higher-risk changes

  • Own end-to-end security implementation, including least-privilege identity and continuously rebuilt hardened images

  • Make high-impact tradeoffs across reliability, security, cost, and delivery speed; rebalance investment between new capabilities and technical debt

  • Manage infrastructure unit-cost spend with finance and engineering leadership

  • Partner with Security, SRE, Builder Experience, and product engineering leaders on cross-domain problems and represent the domain to executive leadership

  • Establish lightweight mechanisms for visibility into team health, delivery, and operational quality

Requirements

  • Point of view on how AI agents change infrastructure operations and the shape of the teams that run them

  • Experience leading multiple infrastructure or platform teams through engineering managers, ideally across countries and time zones

  • Track record setting and delivering a multi-year infrastructure strategy that changed how an organization builds and ships

  • Experience designing engineering organizations (team boundaries, headcount planning across geographies, and raising engineering management quality)

  • Experience delivering infrastructure that scales ahead of business growth with sublinear headcount using automation, self-service, and API-driven control planes

  • Depth across cloud, container, and identity systems sufficient to review large-scale designs and explain design evolution

  • Experience running infrastructure in a regulated environment with security and compliance treated as design constraints from the start

  • Credibility with executives up to the C-suite; translating infrastructure risk, cost, and investment into business terms

Benefits

  • Equity via RSUs

  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)

  • 26 days paid holiday plus additional company days off

  • Hybrid working model (onsite Tuesday–Thursday; office in Kraków City Centre)

  • Commute allowance

  • Health/Dental coverage (LUX MED VIP)

  • Life Insurance

  • Travel Insurance

  • Pluxee Lunch Card / Multisport Card

  • Education Budget

  • Mental Health program

  • Family planning program

  • Employee Pension Plan (PPK)
