Description

You’ll build and own features from concept through release and monitoring in an agile, well-resourced environment. The role spans frontend development in JavaScript for iOS, Android, and Web, and backend development in PHP with scalable RESTful APIs and services. You’ll optimize performance, ensure reliability and testability, and iterate post-launch using player behavior and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop social and gameplay systems end-to-end

• Build frontend functionality in JavaScript for iOS, Android, and Web

• Implement backend services and APIs in PHP for gameplay, social, and LiveOps features

• Design scalable RESTful APIs consumed by client applications

• Contribute to data modeling and persistence for progression, rewards, and events

• Improve backend efficiency for high concurrency and large player populations

• Ensure features are reliable, testable, and production-ready

• Assess and optimize frontend/backend performance

• Partner with Product to scope technical solutions and make pragmatic tradeoffs

• Monitor post-launch performance and iterate based on metrics

• Contribute to architecture, tooling, and delivery practice improvements

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• 4+ years of professional software development experience

• JavaScript production experience

• Experience building backend services in a live environment

• Experience crafting and consuming RESTful APIs

• Understanding of client-server architecture

• Experience contributing to features through the full development lifecycle

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a player-first approach

Nice-to-Have

• PHP backend services experience (preferred) and familiarity with an existing PHP codebase

• Experience building gameplay systems (events, rewards, progression, or social mechanics)

• Experience with mobile gaming, social casino, or Games-as-a-Service

• Familiarity with experimentation and feature flags

• Mobile development experience (iOS and/or Android)
