Backend Developer (Java)

Description

Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot. You will design REST APIs and SOAP integrations, build business logic and data access with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate, manage database schema changes with Liquibase, and optimize production performance and stability. Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve quality and security, and leverage AI tools to support development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications
• Implement REST APIs and integrate SOAP services using JSON/XML/OpenAPI/WSDL/XSD
• Build business logic and application/data access layers with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
• Design and optimize data structures and SQL queries for PostgreSQL or Oracle
• Manage DB schema evolution using Liquibase
• Diagnose production issues via log analysis; improve performance and stability
• Create unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews
• Contribute to system architecture with attention to business needs, security, and scalability
• Analyze existing solutions and plan modernization/migrations
• Maintain technical and architectural documentation (e.g., Enterprise Architect)
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers, architects, and operations teams
• Use AI tools to generate code, create tests, refactor, and analyze errors

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial Java development (preferably Java 21)
• Strong Java/JVM knowledge (OOP + functional, multithreading, memory management)
• Practical experience with enterprise backend applications
• Very good Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA, and JPA/Hibernate knowledge
• Experience with REST API design and SOAP integrations
• Very good SQL knowledge and relational database query optimization
• Practical PostgreSQL or Oracle experience and Liquibase
• Knowledge of integration standards/formats: JSON, XML, OpenAPI, WSDL/XSD
• Git plus Maven or Gradle; JUnit and Mockito
• Ability to write unit/integration tests and troubleshoot production problems
• Practical knowledge of JIRA and Confluence; ability to prepare technical documentation
• Practical use of AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
• Knowledge of information security and safe AI usage
• Independence, responsibility, and analytical problem-solving
• Team collaboration skills and experience with code review
