Description

Own the creation and execution of a Data strategy and build foundations for AI transformation and a data-driven organization. Lead the design and development direction of a modern data platform on Google Cloud Platform, establish Data Governance and Data Quality standards, and optimize cloud costs. Manage and mentor a Data & BI team while partnering with Product, PMO, Development, and Controlling to deliver end-to-end data and AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement the organization’s Data strategy

• Build foundations for AI transformation and a data-driven organization

• Design and develop a modern data platform on Google Cloud Platform

• Define the roadmap for Google Cloud Platform services and implement new data/AI solutions

• Establish Data Governance and Data Quality standards

• Design FinOps solutions and optimize cloud environment costs

• Collaborate with Controlling on reporting and business decision analytics

• Partner with Product, PMO, and Development (Operations) on strategic data and AI products and initiatives end to end

• Define technical standards and the direction for the data ecosystem

• Identify automation opportunities and implement solutions increasing efficiency

• Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and BI Analysts (People Manager)

• Recruit people, provide regular feedback, development discussions, and mentoring

• Support the team as both a leader and a technology partner

• Build a culture of accountability, high standards, mutual trust, and continuous growth

Requirements

• Leadership experience managing technical teams

• Strong technical competencies in data and cloud architecture

• Very strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, SQL, and Python

• Experience building modern data platforms in cloud environments

• Understanding of Data Governance and modern data management

• Ability to set technology direction and make architectural decisions

• Experience mentoring and developing people
