Description

Lead forward-deployed engineering across multiple customer engagements by defining delivery models, engineering standards, and talent strategy at org-wide scale. Own organizational-level outcomes by setting technical direction for complex customer AI programs, establishing operational and production readiness frameworks, and driving consistent engineering excellence and measurable impact across the portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery across multiple customer engagements and FDE pods; define engagement models, staffing strategies, and delivery cadences.

• Set technical direction for complex customer AI programs; align with adjacent AWS teams and translate strategy into business decisions.

• Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, and production readiness criteria for AI systems.

• Hire, develop, and retain FDE talent; coach managers on performance management, succession planning, and career development.

• Identify systemic opportunities to expand AI adoption; create reusable accelerators and feed patterns back into AWS product roadmaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience defining technical strategy and delivery standards while managing teams across multiple concurrent programs or customer engagements.

• Experience communicating technical and organizational strategy to executive audiences (VP/C-suite level).

• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or large engineering teams (15+).

• 8+ years of experience leading design and architecture of large-scale production systems.

• Salary range (Boston, MA): $220,100–$297,700 annually (final compensation varies by experience, qualifications, and location).
