Description

Lead the company’s complete accounting function—ensuring correctness, completeness, quality, and meeting month/quarter/year closing timelines. You will manage and methodically lead the internal accounting team, handle tax matters (especially VAT, OSS, and corporate income tax), and prepare audit and external-partner documentation. You will also set and improve accounting methodologies, processes, and internal controls, and support ERP Odoo development and automation of accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of the full company accounting
• Lead and methodically oversee the internal accounting team
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within deadlines and quality standards
• Oversee tax agenda (VAT, OSS, corporate income tax) with support from external tax advisors
• Handle complex accounting and tax cases and define proper accounting treatments
• Prepare financial statements and supporting materials for audit and external advisors
• Build and improve accounting methodologies, processes, and internal controls
• Monitor Czech accounting and tax legislation changes and translate them into practice
• Coordinate with Controlling to ensure correctness of financial data for monthly reporting
• Participate in ERP Odoo development, automation of accounting processes, and improvement of data flow between systems
• Provide accounting expertise for e-commerce, foreign markets, inventory, import of goods, and retail topics
• Work closely with the CFO to further develop accounting and financial processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally as Chief Accountant or in another senior accounting role
• Strong orientation in Czech accounting and ability to independently handle complex accounting cases
• Practical knowledge of Czech tax legislation, especially VAT and corporate income tax, plus experience with OSS and cross-border transactions
• Ability to independently manage monthly and annual closings and prepare audit materials
• Experience leading or methodically developing an accounting team
• Inventory/warehouse accounting experience; e-commerce/retail/FMCG experience is a plus
• Understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow and how financial statements connect
• Hands-on ownership of responsibilities, including driving complex topics
• Enjoy process setup, continuous improvement, and using automation
• Odoo accounting experience is a strong advantage; ERP implementation/development experience from a finance perspective is valued
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience with payroll processing independently or familiarity with payroll topics is a plus
