Description

You will develop data models for SQL and NoSQL databases for AI and data science use cases, build and operate data products (data marts), and support containerized database operations. You will automate database-related processes with scripting, implement data governance for masking and anonymization, and collaborate with data scientists to apply foundational AI and machine learning knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop data models for SQL databases (DB2, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) for AI and data science use cases

• Develop and operate data products (Data-Marts), e.g., based on Apache Iceberg tables

• Operate database systems in containerized environments using Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and OpenShift

• Use Python to automate processes in the database area

• Implement data governance solutions for data masking and anonymization

• Work closely with Data Scientists; apply foundational understanding of AI and Machine Learning

Requirements

• Degree (Bachelor/FH diploma or equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Engineering, or comparable field

• Relevant professional experience in AI, databases, and analytics: 3+ years with a “good” grade; or 5+ years with a “satisfactory” grade; or completed training as IT Specialist for System Integration with 5+ years comparable experience

• German skills at least C1 (GER)

• Good English skills

• Meet civil service eligibility / TVöD-BT-V requirements (incl. EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship and commitment to the free democratic basic order)

• Consent to an extended security clearance prior to employment

• Willingness to travel, including multi-day trips
