Description

You will design electrical circuitry for PV cells, strings, and circuits within PV modules, including analysis of stackup tolerances. You will simulate and optimize tradeoffs between electrical losses, optical losses, and material usage, then build prototypes to isolate and characterize electrical performance. You will also run stress tests, validate robustness, and drive design iteration using cross-functional feedback.

Responsibilities

• Draw electrical designs for the PV cell, string, and circuit within PV modules while analyzing stackup tolerances
• Simulate and optimize between electrical losses, optical losses, and material usage
• Construct prototypes and test structures to isolate electrical performance
• Characterize components and assemblies using appropriate metrology and imaging
• Run stress tests to validate robustness of design and component selection
• Drive design iteration and cross-functional feedback

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Proficient in CAD drawing, ideally including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and GD&T
• Proficient in circuit modeling and design
• Proficient in building and characterizing circuits using source meters, function generators, and oscilloscopes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use first principle reasoning
• Exceptional organization and communication skills
• Detail-oriented; able to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience in semiconductor characterization using C-V & TLM
• Working knowledge of solar or power electronics and thermal or safety concerns
• Experience building data acquisition systems
