Description

You will design, build, and operate sovereign cloud and on-prem infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. The role includes CI/CD and GitOps delivery pipelines, comprehensive automated testing, and an observability stack with SLO/SLI ownership. At senior level, you will also set technical standards and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architecture, provisioning, and administration of sovereign cloud and on-prem infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible (senior: set standards for automation and security)
• Design and optimization of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and a GitOps workflow for automated build, test, and deployment
• Implement a holistic testing strategy and build automated unit, integration, and E2E test frameworks
• Build and operate an observability stack using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Mimir; proactively monitor system state, logs, and traces; define SLOs and SLIs
• Integrate security scans and compliance checks with Trivy, Kyverno, and Cosign
• Senior: mentor engineers, establish technical standards, and provide technical guidance
• Senior: take responsibility for the architectural foundation and connect strategic design with practical automation

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred for Senior)
• Proven multi-year experience as a DevOps, Cloud, or QA Automation Engineer (Senior)
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Solid testing framework knowledge (e.g., Pytest, Playwright) and deep scripting expertise (Python, Bash)
• Strong “automate everything” mindset with commitment to quality, system reliability, and security
• Senior: experience mentoring colleagues and establishing DevOps/SRE best practices
• Fluent German and English
