Description

You will design, develop, and maintain hybrid infrastructure and the services that run on it. The role includes building CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI, administering GitLab and GitLab Runner infrastructure, containerizing services with Docker, and expanding monitoring and observability. You will also perform security hardening, secret management, backup and Disaster Recovery testing (including ransomware-resistant backups), and troubleshoot incidents across systems, networks, and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain hybrid infrastructure: Linux (Debian) servers and VMware virtualization
  • Design and develop CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI, including release standards and deployment strategies
  • Administer GitLab and GitLab Runners
  • Containerize services (Docker) and develop the environment for container workloads
  • Build monitoring and observability (metrics, logs, alerting)
  • Harden systems and services, manage secrets, and apply least-privilege
  • Collaborate on network segmentation and vulnerability handling
  • Design and regularly test backups and Disaster Recovery procedures, including ransomware-resistant copies
  • Diagnose complex issues across systems, networks, and applications
  • Support and resolve incidents
  • Work with development teams on architecture and best practices
  • Create documentation and standards and share knowledge with the team

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience administering Linux systems in production, including 2–3 years as DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineer
  • Very strong Linux knowledge (Debian/Ubuntu), including troubleshooting performance, systems, and networks
  • Production experience with Docker
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI)
  • Monitoring and alerting experience (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana or similar)
  • Bash knowledge sufficient for automation
  • Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, DNS, firewalls, load balancing
  • Security hardening practices, access management, and log analysis
  • Independence, ownership, and clear communication (including with non-technical stakeholders)
  • English proficiency for comfortable work with documentation
