Description

You will support the development of high-fidelity aircraft simulators built as distributed real-time systems from common and simulator-specific software components. The role uses DevOps and CI/CD principles to develop, operate, and continuously improve CI/CD infrastructure used across simulation projects. You will work in an international team and contribute to reliable, automated department-owned and corporate-managed IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, and develop DevOps solutions and tools for IT infrastructure and software development environments
• Set up and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines
• Consult and support software development teams to improve efficiency of development processes and operations using CI/CD principles
• Continuously revise and improve the capabilities and reliability of DevOps tooling and infrastructure

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 1+ years of professional experience in DevOps and CI/CD automation development
• Proven expertise in setting up, maintaining, and evolving CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
• Experience with infrastructure provisioning and continuous deployment using Ansible, Puppet, and/or OPSI
• Experience operating and designing enterprise-level IT infrastructure with IaC, dynamic provisioning, and immutable systems
• Proficiency with Terraform, Packer, and Vault; strong drive to automate processes
• Strong multi-distro Linux skills; scripting/programming with Python, Groovy, Bash, Ansible, C++ or similar
• Experience with virtualization (Proxmox, KVM), container infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes), and storage solutions (Ceph, ZFS, Samba)
• Advantage: full-stack software development tools (Git, Nexus, Artifactory) and air-gapped/secrecy-ready environments (data diodes, BSI Grundschutz, encryption)
• Excellent English (negotiation level) and proactive, customer-oriented mindset
