The role includes operating and improving the Amazon EKS platform (day-2 operations, lifecycle management, upgrades, and support) while enabling developer self-service through automated guardrails. You will also drive observability improvements and participate in incident response and continuous reliability improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and improve the central Amazon EKS platform (day-2 operations, lifecycle management, upgrades, and support)

  • Provide a secure, self-service Kubernetes platform so development teams can deploy without managing underlying infrastructure

  • Apply consistent platform standards across cluster configuration, monitoring, networking, security controls, and lifecycle management

  • Support a sustainable 24x7 operational model for Kubernetes-related platform services (Kubernetes, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, JFrog, Elastic)

  • Build and maintain automation, Infrastructure as Code, and reusable platform patterns to reduce manual effort and improve reliability

  • Improve platform observability with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational visibility across shared Kubernetes services

  • Strengthen security and compliance using governance, guardrails, and automated controls

  • Collaborate with development squads on onboarding, platform adoption, and day-to-day platform use

  • Drive incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of platform reliability and support quality

  • Share knowledge, document standards, and establish accountable ownership for shared platform services

  • Support the transition of platform ownership and operational responsibility to a dedicated cross-functional/SRE team

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting Kubernetes in production

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and modern infrastructure

  • Experience operating Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes platforms at scale

  • Experience designing secure, resilient, and highly available production environments

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, storage, security, and workload scheduling

  • Experience managing platform lifecycle activities (upgrades, maintenance, operational readiness)

  • Strong automation mindset with Infrastructure as Code and configuration as code

  • Experience applying software engineering principles to infrastructure and operations

  • Strong understanding of observability (metrics, logs, traces)

  • Experience integrating security, governance, and compliance into technical solutions

Benefits

Opportunity to help build and shape a central SRE capability that owns, operates, and continuously evolves Kubernetes across the enterprise.
