Description

Lead the visual evolution of Google Drive by defining a visual north star—typography, color, layout, iconography, and high-density scannability—for both enterprise workflows and everyday consumer use. Architect and govern robust Figma design systems in partnership with Workspace Design System (WDS) and Carbon teams, and define motion design principles for key interactions. Translate complex Gemini AI behaviors (dynamic synthesis, agentic workflows, semantic search) into fluid, intuitive, and trustworthy visual experiences.

Responsibilities

• Establish and advocate visual design direction across Drive surfaces (Web, Android, iOS)

• Define typographic scale, dynamic color palettes, spatial layouts, and iconography

• Architect, scale, and govern Figma design systems for unified component consistency, theming, and cross-surface scalability

• Define motion design principles and choreograph purposeful interaction transitions (e.g., drag-and-drop, file previews, loading/shimmer, navigation transitions)

• Design next-generation visual frameworks and motion language for Gemini in Drive

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

• 8+ years of experience in product design or UX

• Portfolio/website link accessible via resume
