Description

Build virtualized, hardware-accelerated solutions for EC2 disk instances as part of the EC2 Nitro local storage platform. Work across the stack, from low-level hardware optimization to higher-level frameworks, to support high-performance local read/write access for massive datasets. Focus on performance, security, and reliability at global scale for workloads such as databases, analytics, search, and data warehousing powering AI/ML.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop virtualized storage software for EC2 disk instances

• Lead architecture/design for new and existing systems with strong reliability and scaling considerations

• Drive performance optimization for large-scale storage workloads

• Contribute to code quality through review and unit testing

• Mentor and/or lead engineers through one-on-one support and code reviews

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 5+ years programming with at least one software programming language (C, C++, Java, Rust or similar)

• 5+ years leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling)

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

• Linux development environment experience

• Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and unit testing
