Description

Lead the design and development of secure, reliable, and high-performance Global Secure Access endpoint components. Own complex problems across kernel and user-mode services, networking stack behavior, and cloud-connected security systems, while making security, performance, compatibility, maintainability, observability, and safe deployment tradeoffs. Improve engineering standards through reviews, threat modeling, automated testing, and production diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure endpoint components using C/C++ or Rust
• Drive investigation and delivery for ambiguous, complex areas spanning OS internals, kernel-mode development, user-mode services, networking, and cloud integration
• Use networking expertise to design secure traffic-handling solutions and troubleshoot connectivity issues across the networking stack
• Make architectural tradeoffs across security, performance, compatibility, maintainability, observability, and safe deployment
• Collaborate with endpoint, identity, security, and cloud-service teams to define interfaces and deliver end-to-end experiences
• Raise engineering standards via design/code reviews, threat modeling, automated testing, production diagnostics, and mentoring

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, or Rust (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Benefits

• Eligible for benefits and other compensation; base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year in the U.S. (higher ranges apply for specific locations)
