  • Focus: Analyze and improve automotive transmission software logic using test and diagnostic data

Description

You will work as the bridge between vehicle application engineers and software developers. Your task is to read and interpret existing software function logic written in C and, based on real test data, propose improvements—so the vehicle behaves smoothly in the right driving situations. You will also define logical change requirements and communicate technical specifications across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret existing C-based software logic for transmission functions

  • Collaborate with application engineers to process proposals from real vehicle testing

  • Define change-management requirements for software function updates

  • Diagnose non-standard behavior using test-ride data and identify root causes

  • Translate technical findings into clear requirements for software developers in the Czech Republic and Germany

Requirements

  • Technical education (university/college) in automotive, IT, mechatronics, or electrical engineering

  • Ability to read and understand C code (you do not need to program “from scratch,” but must understand the logic)

  • Analytical thinking connecting vehicle physical behavior with digital data

  • English or German proficiency for technical documentation and cross-border communication (both languages is a plus)

  • Strong interest in automotive technology

  • Active driver’s license category B; occasional in-vehicle verification of functions

Benefits

  • Unique know-how contributing to functions used by millions of drivers

  • Work with state-of-the-art technology, including access to prototypes and internal VW/Škoda systems

  • Flexible setup: office, Home Office, and occasional trips to test vehicles

  • Above-standard compensation: motivating salary, 13th salary, and a benefits package (up to 8 extra days off, Multisport, pension contribution, meal allowance, flexible working hours)

  • Professional growth: training in automotive software diagnostics and architecture
