Description

You will administer and implement the IT infrastructure for the Geology and Geochemistry/Mineralogy departments, covering hardware, software, and web resources, and support the digital implementation of study-relevant content. The role includes coordinating ICT initiatives, managing the server infrastructure, provisioning and maintaining workstation PCs, and providing technical support and training for staff.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual development and coordination of ICT initiatives within the Geology and Geochemistry/Mineralogy departments

• Administration of the departments’ server infrastructure

• Provisioning and maintenance of workstation computers plus user support

• Technical support for study program management

• Training and support for employees, e.g., on software applications and IT security

Requirements

• Bachelor-level degree in Informatics (or equivalent technical degree), or vocational training as Fachinformatiker/in with relevant knowledge and experience, or proven equivalent qualifications and work experience

• Knowledge of relevant IT applications and services

• Strong awareness of IT security

• Knowledge of and willingness to provide IT support and IT consulting

• Enjoy contributing to research support and study program management

• Careful, structured, independent, communicative, and team-oriented working style

• Very good German and good to very good English

• Strong customer/service orientation
