Description

You will design, develop, and maintain realistic, scalable simulation environments for autonomous mobile robots, centered on perception and navigation. You will build robot behavior and reinforcement learning training pipelines, perform validation in simulation, and optimize simulation performance for large-scale training and testing. The role leverages ROS2 and NVIDIA Omniverse to accelerate robot intelligence development for real-world deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation environments for perception and autonomous navigation
• Develop and integrate robot behavior and training pipelines for reinforcement learning and motion planning in complex outdoor environments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to validate robot algorithms in simulation
• Optimize simulation performance for extensive training and testing, including cloud deployments

Requirements

• Degree in robotics, computer science, engineering, or related field (BSc or MSc/Ing.)
• Hands-on experience with ROS2
• Practical experience with ROS2 Navigation Stack: RTAB-Map, NAV2, ROS Control, Behavior Trees
• Strong Python and C++ programming skills
• Advanced knowledge of mobile robotics (kinematics, dynamics, control/regulation)
• Experience building digital twins and simulation environments (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, CoppeliaSim, Unity)
• Experience modeling and simulating sensors in digital twins (GNSS/GPS, cameras, IMU, wheel odometry, other sensors)
• Experience validating robot algorithms in simulation and ability to manage the sim-to-real gap
