Description

You will design, develop, and maintain highly realistic, scalable simulation environments for robotic perception and autonomous navigation. You’ll build and integrate robot behavior and reinforcement-learning training pipelines, including motion planning for complex outdoor environments. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will validate algorithms in simulation and optimize simulation performance for large-scale training and testing, including cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation environments for perception-focused and autonomy-focused mobile robot systems

• Develop and integrate robot behaviors and training pipelines for reinforcement learning and motion planning in complex outdoor environments

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to validate robotic algorithms in simulation

• Optimize simulation performance for large-scale training/testing, including cloud deployments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s (Bc.) or Master’s (Mgr./Ing.) degree in robotics, computer science, engineering, or a related field

• Experience with ROS2

• Practical experience with ROS2 Navigation Stack: RTAB-MAP, NAV2, ROS Control, Behavior Trees

• Strong programming in Python and C++

• Advanced knowledge of mobile robot systems: kinematics, dynamics, control, and regulation

• Experience creating digital twins and simulation environments (e.g., Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, CoppeliaSim, Unity)

• Experience modeling and simulating sensors in digital twins (e.g., GNSS/GPS, cameras, IMU sensors, wheel odometry, other robot sensors)

• Experience testing and validating robotic algorithms in simulation and ability to handle sim-to-real gaps
